Chandler-2012 Graduate
I saw Chandler wiping windows today and thought wow, she's beautiful! She's the subject of my day number nine photo for a thirty day project I'm currently working on. When I asked Cahndler if she wanted to participate in the project she was ready and I'm so glad she said yes. We did a mini-session on the spot and it was an absolute blast! The natural light streaming through a hugh window flooded the indoor space we were shooting in and WOW is all I can say. Chandler will graduate high school in 2012 and I'm so excited for her...Thanks again Chandler, love those eyes and that smile!
If you're in Dallas and surrounding areas and would like to participate in my 30 day project email me at ebbystouch@gmail.com . If you are a Senior contact me to schedule your Senior Portrait Session today! You're going to love it!

Cassie is an aspiring plus-size model and I'm so excited that she portfolio builds with Ebby's Touch. I posted a few on Facebook but here's a few more headshots! Thanks again Cassie!

Project 30-Day 2 {Lazy Days}
It's one of those quiet hot days in my world. One of those days where you just want to relax with something nice and cold to drink (non-alcoholic for me please) and just enjoy the birds chirping and spend a little time thinking. It's the second day of my Project 30 and I felt like I was cheating and not being as creative as I could be by doing a selfie. But to be honest self portraits aren't that easy to do. I'm not talking about the kind where you hold your cell phone at arms lengthen or use the reverse camera on your cell phone application or shoot a picture of you in the mirror. I'm talking about setting up lights, framing and composing a shot, having a good expression, getting a good focus, hiding the remote if you're using one, having some interestingness, post porcessing and all the things that go on behind the scenes. I designated today as a selfie day...it wasn't easy to capture and I'm definately trying to stay on track with my Project 30 but it's just that kind of day!
Self Portrait Tip: Use a tripod. Tripods work wonders in helping to eliminate blurred shots from camera shake and allow you to get a better focus when using the timer. AND if you don't have Photoshop, don't worry. Not every image editing job calls for Photoshop; I did this conversion completely in Photoscape which is a free image editing program you can get from http://photoscape.com/. You can also try http://picasa.com/

Poject 30-Day 1 {Feed Me}
I can hardly believe it myself, I'm actually starting another project that requires me to shoot a photo a day. I haven't had much success with these type projects and since I mainly capture portraits I always like to photograph still life or candid shots. I have a thing for candids they're so ummm natural. Well, here goes, Day 1 of my Project 30. Cheer me on! Woo-Hoo.
A House Sparrow (I think) decided to nest in our shrub in front of the front door. The birdies are here and growing rapidly. Their eyes are open and the wingss are emerging and like all babies, they're hungry and want to be feed...

Can They Say Ouch? And Still Do It?
Accidents happen and one happened to me today. I dropped one of my camera bodies and thankfully the UV filter broke rather than the body or lens itself. The UV filter is stuck on the lens but it's repairable. Yeah for me! This brings up a point that is something you should consider when booking a photographer; do they have back-up gear? If something were to happen to their camera would they still be able to photograph your wedding, event, or portrait session? A portrait session can normally be rescheduled. Special one time events such as weddings and special services can't be restaged so make sure the photographer you hire has back-up gear for your special occasions. Yes, I have back up gear and a back up to the back up! I'm saying ouch but the studio is open.
Have you heard of Zoner Editing Software?
I hadn't heard of Zoner Photo Studio Pro 13 editing software until I won a photo contest with the following image. The software has some nice features and I really like that it converts Canon(and other) RAW files. I didn't edit the following pictures with the software but here's the winning image that got me this $69.99 software. I haven't used it much but if you'd like to learn more about it CLICK HERE. And don't be afraid to get those camera's out , take beautiful pictures for your own enjoyment but enter a few contest. Happy Snapping!
I probably don't photograph nature as much as I should, it's so comforting and beautiful to look at. I am blessed that God would give us such beauty to see. Here are a few more flowers that I've captured. Hope you enjoy:)

DeWanna
I learned a valuable lesson recently; don't try to do a portrait session when you've just had surgery. I did a session with Dewanna in April and I wasn't quite well enough. The pictures were fine but I wasn't happy and asked for a do-over. DaWanna loved the first session and so did I but I felt limited because I was not able to move about during the session...we had a great time at the do-over. Thanks DaWanna and all that were so lovingly patient with me as I recovered from surgery...you're the best!
Judith-Three Generations
I don't have to tell you how much I love family lifestyle sessions, right? They are so much fun and it blesses me when families come together to capture precious moments. Judith's mother was arriving from Florida and Judith wanted to have a family session while her mother was in town. I count it a blessing that she chose Ebby's Touch.
They were a blast to capture. C, Judith's daughter had so many dance outfits and once she got started doing her jumps in the different outfits she didn't want to stop. She's so beautiful! And it was a joy to meet Judith's mother. We had a great time with this lifestyle session.

My Number One Fan
I couldn't resist including my number one fan in the blog this week. He's been a dear friend for over 2twenty-four years and I'm so excited that I was able to get him in the studio. It took a little coaxing but we had a great time. Did I mention that he's also my husband? Loved our session time together. I know, I know! You'd think because we're in the same household that it would be easy to get him in front of the camera but not always...thanks #1 fan!
But for me there's nothing like a candid natural light capture. We all need those studio images form time to time but capturing action as it's happening is so exciting...even if my number one fan isn't doing anything special, it's still exciting<3. I heart him.

Beautiful Brooklyn
I'm definately late posting this, I captured Brooklyn a few months ago and she was a sheer treat to photograph. She slept the entire time and never cried. She's simply beautiful! Oh did I mention that Brooklyn Marie is my cousin? Thanks to Christal for trusting me to capture her precious baby girl=)
Time with family, definately loved it!
I had a blast with my nephews when I visited my home town, it's so wonderful to have seen four generations of family. This is my great nephew Dewayne and his son. it just feels good!
I was actually home for a wedding of one of my great nephews and here the family reviews some snapshots from the wedding. I arrived at the exact start time of the wedding and changed from driving clothes to wedding clothes in the car, imagine that. I wasn't the hired photographer and it turned out the couple did not have an official photographer..I was happy to capture the wedding in a casual manner after driving six hours to get there. Just loved it!
And whoo-Hoo to my Alien Bees monolights and Cybersyncs. They were so easy to pack and take over 400 miles to visit my family and capture these precious moments. If you haven't become a fan on facebook, join me there now at www.facebook.com/ebbystouch. See ya there!
